How each layer above is built on Shopify. The kit-led experience comes from configuring collections and menus — not custom development — so the pre-launch build stays fast and cheap.

Native — build as-is

No apps required

Watch-outs

Plan these deliberately

  • Mix-and-match kits — paid third-party app. Launch with fixed curated kits instead.
  • Waitlist / “Notify me” — password page + Klaviyo back-in-stock (not native)
  • Registry (Babylist) — external / third-party — Phase 2, not a launch blocker

Bottom line: ~85–90% is native Shopify. The rest is covered by free first-party apps (Forms, Search & Discovery, Bundles) plus Klaviyo. Nothing here forces a custom build or fights the platform.
